Best Beachwear in Cyprus 2026
A no-BS guide to what Cyprus locals actually wear on the beach — from oversized 220gsm tees to breathable linen shorts. Written from our Paphos atelier, tested on Coral Bay, Latchi & Aphrodite's Rock.
Cyprus isn't Mykonos. It's rougher, hotter, more honest. Our beaches — Coral Bay, Lara, Fig Tree Bay, Nissi — demand clothing that handles 38°C, sea salt, limestone dust and a 3 am swim on the same day. Here is the Dolce & Banana 2026 beachwear shortlist, built from three years sweating through summers in Paphos.
① The oversized tee beats the rashguard
Tourists wear rashguards. Locals wear oversized 220 gsm cotton tees because they dry in 20 minutes under Cyprus sun, cover your shoulders without the "tryhard surfer" look, and photograph incredible in every Paphos-harbour Instagram post. Our SZN 26 oversized tee is cut specifically for Mediterranean humidity. Deep dive: 6 ways to style an oversized tee.
② Linen shorts, not boardshorts
Boardshorts belong on the North Shore. In Paphos you want mid-thigh linen-cotton shorts in off-white or sand — they dry fast, don't stick, and transition from beach → taverna → bar without a costume change. Ours come pre-washed so they already have that lived-in drape.
③ Ditch the polyester cap
Get a crochet bucket hat or a woven straw fisherman hat. You'll thank us when the sun hits 42°C in August. Currently all our bucket hats are −20 % in the SZN 26 sale.
④ The Cyprus beach starter pack
- 220 gsm oversized boxy tee (white / bone / faded banana)
- Linen mid-thigh shorts (sand / off-white)
- Crochet or straw bucket hat
- Leather slides OR mesh sneakers
- Waxed-cotton crossbody (passport + phone + euros)
- SPF 50, obviously
